Who said healthy eating had to be complicated or lacking in flavour? Certainly not us! Get ready to transform your snack break with a recipe so simple and delicious that you will instantly forget shop-bought granola bars ever existed. 😍

With just 5 minutes of preparation and 5 ingredients, you can make peanut butter and chocolate chip granola bars that are not only easy to prepare but also incredibly delicious and perfect for a healthy snack. Gluten-free, wonderfully chewy and filled with chocolate chips, they will become your new favourite snack on the go. Ready to stop reaching for shop-bought bars?

Ingredients (Makes approximately 10 bars):

  • Rolled oats
  • Natural Peanut Butter – We love a smooth, runny variety made with nothing but peanuts and a pinch of salt. However, feel free to use whatever you have available! Fancy trying something different? Almond, cashew or sesame butter will also work well.
  • Maple Syrup – Feel free to substitute it with honey or brown rice syrup.
  • Chocolate Chips – Because the combination of chocolate and peanut butter is impossible to beat. Choose milk or dark chocolate according to your preference.
  • 1 Egg

Method:

  1. Quick Preparation: Start by gathering all your ingredients. It could not be simpler, but the result is a truly delicious treat!
  2. Mix Everything Together: In a large bowl, combine the oats, peanut butter, maple syrup and egg until evenly mixed. Fold in the chocolate chips to turn this simple mixture into an irresistible treat.
  3. Prepare the Tin: Transfer the mixture to a baking tin lined with baking paper. Carefully smooth the top with a spatula to create an even surface.
  4. Bake: Place the tin in a preheated oven ( 180°C) and watch the transformation take place. Within a few minutes, your bars will take shape.
  5. Enjoy: Once cooled, cut the mixture into bars and enjoy the perfect snack for any occasion.

How to Store Your Homemade Granola Bars:

These granola bars are so easy to include in your weekly meal preparation that they will quickly become a staple. Once they have cooled and been cut into bars, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 10 days. Between us, however, they will probably disappear long before then!

Give Your Granola Bars an Extra Boost:

Our basic recipe is simple, but you can make it even more special by adding matcha. Mix one tablespoon of matcha powder into the dry ingredients for bars that are full of flavour and benefits. Matcha is rich in antioxidants, provides a natural source of energy and supports concentration. Adding matcha transforms not only the flavour of your bars but also their nutritional value.
